"iiSuperWomanii" - Burnt out or too tired.....
I am sure all of us have heard of Superwoman. For the uninitiated (Where are you living guys???) she is a YouTube phenomenon who has taken the world by storm. She has hordes of crazy fans from USA to Timbuktu. She is based out of Toronto, Canada. She goes by the name of Lilly Singh and yes she is Indian. I came across her vlogs around 6 months back. I have goggled about her obsessively and wait for her videos to go online on YouTube. In fact Sharukh Khans daughter is a big fan of hers and he actually gave her a jacket which he wanted her to use for a show/video. Sadly she is not a big SRK fan (Can't imagine why)I would have died. Moving on....
I really love all of her vidoes especially the "types of" series that she puts on her channel. I am not a big fan of her "My parents react to this" series. If you are still reading this and have failed to go to YouTube then please do so. I would advise that you go watch her videos and come back else this might just go above your head in other words you won't get what I am talking about.
Now Lilly also does live shows which mostly consist of motivational talks, Stand-up comedy and the likes. She has recently started a world tour and now is almost concluding it. She toured India too and her show in Bangalore was in Whitefield. I love her for her videos more than anything else but here is where my problem starts.
Lets begin with the "My parents react to this" set of videos. These are basically "Superwoman's" make believe parents reacting to different situations of life (like famous videos etc). My problem with these videos nowadays is that I find them to be very repetitive. Its like the same reactions. I can basically predict that this is what happens next. Next is the "types of" series. The last video was "What friends actually mean"...I did not find this one funny at all. I don't know, I generally watch her videos because I am on the floor clutching my stomach laughing. There are also live vlogs in which she talks about what is happening in her daily life. These used to be interesting, but lately all she talks about is how burnt out she is, how stressed she is and its getting hard to handle. Its like my inspiration is melting in front of me and that breaks my heart.
Lilly I know you will never ever read this or maybe you will, but I think you are too tired or the pressures of being the big phenomenon that you have become is getting to you. First the tour now the secret project. I am really happy for your success I truly am. Watching your videos has given me so much of positivity and have truly helped me in the darkest moments of my life. However, I really think you need to take a break and go back to being the "Lilly Singh - Superwoman" that I love. Please Please Please come back. You are truly missed.
