Exorcising My Demons!!!

Hey!!!!. This is my third attempt to put something on this blog. The first three were disasters and I hated what I wrote. But now I plan to be serious about this and though I have ascended into blog world quite late, hopefully I can make my small mark in this world and have people appreciate what I write. Lets see!!!!

I don't have any intelligent topic to discuss at this point of time though my profile says otherwise. But this will be a long journey I want to share with all of you with whom my "blog" paths will cross (and remain crossed hopefully), so lets take discussions, ideas and inspirations as they come. Also this is my first attempt to try to be read by a wider audience so please bear with me.

So I get up today morning expecting dull and dreary weather (my weather app told me so the previous night) and the weather forecast is true for once. My first thought was where to put the dog. You see the dog occupies my terrace garden, and stays there throughout the day, another matter that the garden no longer exists because most of the plants have been torn in the friendly fights the dog has with them when bored. Second thought is where to dry the clothes. The man of my heart now goes to the gym regularly and has left me with explicit instructions that all gym clothes and socks need to be dry and neat when he needs them. Unfortunately these things take ages to dry if there is no sun. Dried indoors they have this weird smell, so they are not neat no!!!

One thing at a time I think, I drag the dog out from her favorite hiding place and tie her to the steps. I latch the bedroom door from outside because the baby is asleep and the dog starts howling (she is hungry or because she hates to be tied I don't know). I wash her bowl in the rain and get drenched and irritated in the process. Just as I am about to park myself on the sofa I hear screams from the bedroom. Man of my heart makes slashing my throat gestures all the while screaming at me and we both race upstairs. The baby is awake and tells me she had a bad dream. At this point I want to scream.

The dog who has finished gobbling (these things eat so fast) happily pees on the floor which my father in law has just finished swabbing with Dettol. It all snaps.....I argue with the man and force the dog out to the terrace. It has a dry space to sit I reason and we can keep the grill door open so that it can manage its bio breaks. He makes a face at me shakes his head in anger and leaves for the office with a grumpy good bye.

Ok- so what did I learn from all this? First - Potty train the dog :)

On a serious note what could I have done to react differently(There are a couple of other things also which are currently happening in my life which contributes to my disturbed mind. I will not discuss it right now since I am still figuring it out, but will definitely share my experience at some point in time) -

  • Get up in the morning and thank god for another day irrespective of how the situation is. At least you got to see another day.
  • Be patient, take deep breaths and count to ten. It will pass.
  • Remember bad times never last. We all know the saying - There is always the sun after the storm (in this case literally)
  • Try to be a bit more patient with the man, I chose him knowing of his short temper, so the next time he yells I will give him my yogic face.
That's all..... Till next time then!!!!!

Comments

  1. Feed the dog before your father in law cleans the area. Have a set schedule for the dog. (Among other things. :) )

    Good start by the way.
